An Austrian manufactured Model 1912 Chilean issue bayonet to fit the M1912 issue 7mm Mauser rifles and carbines in scabbard. Hilt with bolt retained wooden grip scales has release catch to the rear next to serial number 02368. Fullered single edged spear point blade is stamped to the rear left side OE WG for manufacture by Österreichische Waffenfabrik Gesellschaft of Steyer Austria, now known as the famous arms manufacturer Steyer. In its blued steel scabbard of regulation issue pattern. Manufactured in 1912 and 13 for the Chilean armies newly issued 7mm Mauser bolt action service rifles these follow the standard Mauser type bayonet pattern of the time and worked well both as bayonets and when used as fighting knives. In good condition with good blade, nice grips with working catch and a nice issue scabbard.
