Swedish M1896 Mauser bayonet in scabbard, late model with conical release stud. Finely chequered hollow steel grip with release catch to the lower rear has cross guard stamped with various Swedish issue and inspection marks and serial number 051 with barrel ring to the top and guard to the bottom. Fullered spear point double edged blade struck with Swedish Crown to the left over serial number 051 and Swedish royal crest to the right. In its issue steel scabbard with frog stud, the rear stamped 4 I.18 No 353. A handy and practical weapon the classic Swedish M96 bayonet was as good a fighting knife as it was a bayonet and saw long service with the 6.5mm Mauser rifles issued. In good condition with nice grip and clean blade in a nice well marked scabbard.
