A scarce Swedish Model 1914 bayonet to fit the Mauser M1894/14 carbine and the 9mm Carl Gustaf Model 1945c submachine gun. Hilt with bolt retained walnut grip scales has pommel with release catch to the right side. Locking scabbard catch with release button to the left side and cross guard with barrel loop to the top and short quillion to the underside, the right side of the cross guard stamped with issue markings I19 No 339. Double edged 12 ¾” long spear point blade is struck to the left side with the Swedish Royal Crown and to the right with the crown trade mark of Garl Gustaf. In its correct ribbed steel scabbard stamped to the rear with issue numbers 8 / K5 No165 with Swedish marked brown leather frog. Originally issued without the ability to accept a bayonet the M1894 carbines were adapted by the fitting of a new nose cap in 1914 to accept these well designed and practical knife bayonets. Later when the M1945c submachine gun was developed it too was designed to accept these bayonets. In good condition with good grips and a working catch in a nice unit marked scabbard with an issue frog. A nice example of an scarce European WW1 / WW2 in its scabbard with frog.
