An extremely rare French Model 1890 Gendarmerie bayonet in scabbard with issue buff white leather Gendarmerie parade dress frog. Smooth silver alloy grip with long concave groove to the left side above the release button has cross guard with hook quillon to the lower side and barrel loop to the top with serial number to the left side. Cruciform 20 ½” needle blade with various French issue markings to the rear. In its steel issue scabbard with buff white leather Gendarmerie issue parade frog for dress uniform stamped to the rear with manufacturers marking. In very good condition with fine blade and clear issue markings, a very rare French issue bayonet not often seen on the market.
