A vintage French G David Laguiole Extra folding pocket knife. Brass body with engraved steel mainspring has rivet retained horn grip scales. Graceful tapering unfullered steel blade is signed to the left side LAGUIOLE EXTRA next to the company trade mark and G.DAVID 440 to the rear. Made by various makers in the French village of Laguiole these traditional hand made knives were first produced around 1830 and are still made in the region today. This knife by one of the best known makers David is of very good quality and dates probably from the 1950 /60’s I think. A classic knife these are still made to this day. In good condition with nice clean blade and good scales.
