An unnamed pair of Galilean binoculars of the Great war period. Leather covered bodies with extending sun shades to the front and central focus wheel. 6 ½” long when closed, 9” fully extended with sun shades. A good pair of WW1 era binoculars of the type taken into service from civilian stocks at the outbreak of war, this set with no markings may have been a private purchase by an officer or been in private hands throughout their working life. In good condition with working focus and clear image with a few dent and knocks (particularly to the right hand eye cup).
