A WW2 1942 dated Royal Navy issue jack knife by Rogers and Sons of Sheffield. Blade struck with * + 1942 to the right side and ROGERS AND SONS, 6 NORFOLK ST, SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND to the left. Marlin spike to the rear with screwdriver blade and belt loop to the top end. The chequered aluminium rivet retained grip scales with sailor’s issue name K J IVESON stamped to the central panel. Regulation issue to the sailors of the Royal Navy through the second world war and up to 1968 these are a very well made and practical deck knife for use on board ship. In good condition with good clean grips and good springs. The blade sharpened during use over many years of service. A nice example of an early war knife.
