A good WW1 German trench knife in its steel scabbard. Hilt with rivet retained wooden grip scales cut with diagonal grooves. Iron cross guard with quillion to the lower half and 5 ¾” spear point blade. In its correct steel issue scabbard with leather belt loop. Developed during WW1 as practical weapons for use in the confines of the trench systems of that war these German daggers were very effective weapons and saw wide use in both attack and defence. In good condition with clean blade in a nice scabbard.
