A cased pre-war NRA ASTOR COUNTY CUP prize medal. 2” diameter bronze round medal struck to the front with the NRA Archer and Rifleman over SIT PERPETUUM and to the obverse ASTOR COVNTY CVP next to a tankard . In its original blue presentation case, the inside of the lid stamped ELKINGTON & Co Ltd 22 REGENT St S.W. Shot for by NRA affiliated clubs the Astor was set up in 1904 by Viscount Astor to promote civilian rifle shooting and is still competed for during the Bisley meeting each summer. An interesting piece of Bisley and shooting history.
